A Desire to do more
Maxiloda grew out of a customer problem; How to move more, while using less resources. We were born from the desire to do more with less. To reduce waste in all its forms, time, space, product, money, human life. We’re proud of the products we’ve developed, obsessively passionate about every design, every component but more importantly; we’re proud of the impact our products are having on our customers businesses and ultimately on the planet.
Our story
Maxiloda was founded by Dave Clapson back in 2012 when a customer walked through the doors of Dave’s other business; Gloster Engineering. This particular customer had a challenge around how to get more efficiency out of every truck load. Dave loves nothing more than solving complex problems and could see straight away, this was an issue worth solving and the Maxiloda Glide prototype took shape.
Recognising that this was a product and a potential business in it’s own right, Dave and now GM of Gloster Hans Kruiswijk, set up Maxiloda with fellow engineer and long term friend, Gary to lead the commercialisation aspects of the business. Right from that point Maxiloda had a clear set of values on which all decisions are made in order to build a sustainable and enduring business. The focus and determination that characterises the Maxiloda team was established over 30 years of friendship, hardship, learning and great times.

Gary - Director
Prior to Maxiloda, Gary spent 20years in corporate roles in General and Project Management. Having spent the good part of this time focused on product development and manufacturing in NZ and then establishing a global footprint and brand with the product offshore, Gary understands the power of getting to the heart of what the customer wants through listening and observing.
Gary jumped at the chance to get involved with the Maxiloda team to use his skillset to help grow the business. ‘To me the product is the outcome from understanding the customers pain point, or their focus and passion about an opportunity – if we can align with a need, we then have a viable solution. With the Maxiloda product I could hear from listening to the customers that were using the product and the advantages that they were achieving with its use – that Maxiloda certainly was aligning with my ideals of a great product and solution – I was in!’

Dave - Founder & Director
The founder of Maxiloda has earned his stripes by always being focused on constant improvement and the application of practical methods, thinking and execution of a plan. Developing his engineering skills through manufacturing disciplines of machine shop and fabrication, it was a natural progression to develop his own business – take the risk, live the dream and take control of the potential opportunities that Dave was constantly developing.
Maxiloda is one of those opportunities that ticked the boxes for Dave – the opportunity to use his skills and passion to develop a solution for customers that was innovative and challenging to conceive. ‘I could see that the Maxiloda concept was a solution that was required – there was this clear gap in a market segment that had no solution – and if we could come up with that solution – we had a product that the customers would appreciate and something that could really change the nature of logistics’

Claudia - Country Manager
Before Maxiloda, Claudia spent 20 years in commercial and marketing corporate roles mostly in the retail industry starting in Falabella, then 14 years in Supermarket with Walmart, and last in pharmacies with Walgreens Boots Alliance. She is an expert in strategy and passionate about customers.
Claudia joined the team to bring all her competencies and experience to make Maxiloda a key player in the Latam transport industry. We are establishing an open partnership with the different stakeholders of the industry and bringing all our excellence to more communities- “I am so honored to be the local presence of the growing movement to make this industry more efficient and sustainable for generations to come”.

Luisa - Customer Account Manager
Luisa started in the transport business 5 years ago and this was the opportunity to develop her knowledge by learning and establishing herself in the area of bodywork structures and as a project manager, an activity that she is passionate about and attracts as a business management engineer.
Her knowledge grew over time, until she had the opportunity to meet Maxiloda, because it´s system allowed her to develop projects that generated innovative solutions.
It was after some time that Dave, Gary and Claudia gave her the opportunity to discover a new world in terms of services, strategies, analysis and above all sales. “I found the importance of understanding the pains and needs of clients to convert them not only into customers and end users but into partners. I have grown personally and professionally, feeling that I contribute to the logistics world, through the efficiency and sustainability in transport ”.

Giving back to local communities
We believe we have a responsibility to leave our planet in a better state than it is today.
We’ve made it this way and we need to put it right. We believe this means implementing many small changes which add up to a big impact. This is an everyone problem and therefore everyone should have a role in the solution.
Maxiloda Thrive
We believe that business is a vehicle to do good in the world.
As such we have developed the Maxiloda Thrive programme. In partnership with our clients, we give a portion of our sales revenue back to local environmental and community initiatives that are meaningful to the communities and countries our clients call home. No one knows what is needed better than those that live there, and as such we empower our local teams and customers to determine where we channel our resources. This ensures we can make a tangible impact in the areas that are most important to the local community.
